By visiting one of our wonderful charity shops, you can save money while discovering beautiful, unique items. Not only is it an affordable shopping experience, but it’s also an environmentally conscious choice and a fantastic way to make fashion more sustainable.
The fashion industry contributes significantly to the consumption of water, energy, and natural resources. Additionally, when non-sustainable materials or non-renewable resources are used, the environmental cost is even greater. By purchasing secondhand, you can have a positive impact both socially and environmentally. After all, buying secondhand reduces carbon emissions, conserves resources, saves water and energy, and prevents old clothing from ending up in landfills. Even the smallest changes can make a big difference!
Our Shops
We have seven charity shops across Somerset and the Dorset border – Chard, Crewkerne, Wellington, Ilminster, Yeovil, Sidmouth and Dorchester for you to visit. All of our shops are run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and we are always eager to welcome new faces.
Each of our shops offers a variety of interesting items, including books, clothes, and unique knick-knacks. Best of all, 100% of the proceeds from our charity shop sales go directly towards supporting Ferne Animal Sanctuary and ensuring we can continue caring for animals in need.
Donate to Our Shops
We welcome donations of quality, resalable items at all our charity shops. If you’re a UK taxpayer, you can opt into the Gift Aid scheme when you donate. This costs you nothing but allows us to collect an additional 25% on the sale of any items you’ve donated.
What We Accept
Our charity shops thrive on the generous donations we receive. Whether it’s clothing and accessories, furniture and soft furnishings, watches and jewellery, small electrical items (retro and modern), or books and bric-a-brac, we always appreciate your high-quality, resalable donations.
Please feel free to drop off your items at your local shop or at the Sanctuary if it’s more convenient. Ferne Animal Sanctuary ensures that your donations will be sold for a good price, and the money will go towards helping animals in need. Thank you for supporting our cause!

If you aren’t able to get out and about you can always shop our eBay store. With more than 1,000 items listed, you’re sure to find something to love. All proceeds go directly to helping our animals.
