Volunteer Days

Break free from the office and dive into one of our enriching volunteer day experiences! Start your morning with a delightful tour of the sanctuary, accompanied by a cup of tea and a biscuit. Then, roll up your sleeves and get involved in meaningful projects that improve the lives of our beloved animals, all while building teamwork and camaraderie.

Join us on an inspiring adventure through the natural beauty of Ferne, and make a positive impact on the world.

We ask if you would you be open to organising a fundraiser to help cover the day’s expenses?

A small group of Kuehne + Nagel volunteers had the pleasure of visiting Ferne Animal Sanctuary where we were warmly welcomed with an in-depth tour of the site with the opportunity to see the many animals Ferne takes such great care of. We were then tasked with clearing out the Tortoise Enclosure to refresh it for autumn and mucking out one of the barns ahead of the colder months. Our day in the fresh air was whole-heartedly enjoyed by the team who thoroughly enjoyed their volunteer day. It was an absolute pleasure to volunteer at an organisation like Ferne who keep the care of animals at the heart of everything they do. We would recommend a volunteering opportunity at Ferne to anyone!

– Matt (Contract Logistics Safety & Health Manager, Kuehne + Nagel)

I volunteered for 2 days with Ferne Animal Sanctuary. My employers Kier, encourage staff to volunteer for 2 days a year, and I took advantage of this initiative to seek out a cause which aligned with my values. I have been considering volunteering with an animal sanctuary or for an environmental cause for some time. I found there were plenty of opportunities over my 2 days of volunteering to have close encounters with a delightful array of personalities (both animal and human!). The staff and other volunteers were welcoming, and I felt enriched spiritually by making a meaningful contribution in a fresh air setting. I found my time so rewarding that I have continued to volunteer at weekends as a dog walker on Saturday mornings. I hope to continue to help animals in need while enjoying the rewarding pastime of volunteering and exercise in fresh air for a long time to come.
